European integration has long been regarded as the European Union’s main contribution for promoting peace and stability in Europe. The Ukrainian crisis questioned this assumption because it was the first time that a country was attacked as a result of deepening its relations with the EU. Since integration with the EU is seen as one of the reasons for the Ukrainian crisis, it both reopens normative questions on the nature of European integration and tests the EU’s ability to react to new political, social and value-based challenges.

The UCCHEI is an Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module designed to address European integration through a series of courses concerned with describing and analysing specific challenges for the EU that arise from the Ukrainian crisis.
